Facial motion capture is easily accomplished via an inexpensive option for the PhaseSpace optical motion capture system. Best accuracy is attained by using a special arrangement of 4 Impulse motion capture cameras. PhaseSpace active LED's are attached to the face and the markers are tracked at up to 480 frames per second at the full 12+ Megapixel resolution.
Software includes a plug-in to help facilitate facial mocap animation in MotionBuilder (which integrates well with most professional 3D modeling and animation programs).
